Our new research shows that basic hygiene routines are becoming a thing of the past -

A new survey we have conducted has revealed that parents are increasingly forgetting to make sure their children have washed their hands before eating at home, with young parents being the least likely to remember.  The survey found that only 19% of parents aged 25-30 actively encourage their kids to observe this basic hygiene routine.

In the survey, 71% of parents said that they had become more conscious about hygiene in the home since starting a family, but the majority are forgetting to ensure that their children wash their hands before a meal, a simple step that can significantly reduce the spreading of germs.

Young parents aged 25-30 are the least likely (19%) to make sure their kids wash their hands before eating at home, followed by 36-40 year old parents (31%) with 41-45 year old mums and dads faring the best (37%).    When it comes to hygiene outside the home, 61% of parents said they were worried that their children were not being encouraged to wash their hands regularly enough at school or nursery.

The survey highlights an opportunity for parents to easily reduce the chances of bacteria spreading in the home, by adopting a regular pre-meal hand cleansing routine using an effective antibacterial cleaner.

For those parents concerned with kids not washing their hands at school, Patently Obvious' hand sanitizer is the ideal solution for reducing the spread of germs outside the family home. With no need for water and a convenient size for lunchboxes and school bags parents can now encourage their kids to cleanse their hands before eating school meals and visiting the bathroom.

Andy Hill, Managing Director of KMI, said 'The survey uncovered some interesting insights into personal hygiene inside and outside the family home. Patently Obvious' unique patented formulation of natural, antibacterial ingredients, which is gentle on both the skin and the environment, is the perfect solution to encourage better hygiene routines for both parents and children alike."
